Bali- beautiful Island of the gods
Bali, also known as the island of the gods, draws attention to the natural beauty of looming volcanoes and lush terraced fields that exude peace and tranquility. It is also famous for its surfers paradise! Bali offers incredible dances and colorful ceremonies, handicrafts, upscale beach resorts, and exciting nightlife. And everywhere you can find the temples that are intricately carved.
Bali is an island in the Indian Ocean belonging to Indonesia with an average tropical climate. The capital of the island is Denpasar. With an area of 5,780 km², Bali is by far the largest island in the province of the same name. Bali has around 4.9 million inhabitants.
Balinese temples - a spiritual Trip
The number of temples in Bali – Bali is certainly not far from the island naming under the name of the island of a thousand temples. But do you know how many temples there are in Bali ? At the data from the Department of Religion of Bali in 2012, there are 4,356 temples “Kahyangan 3” from every region on the island of Bali. In addition there are 723 temples “Kahyangan Jagat” and 923 “Kawitan”. In total the total number amounted to 6002 temples. So many
temple in Bali?
In Bali there are several categories of temple grouping. The number of groupings are 4 parts, consisting of:
- Pura Kawitan: a temple that was founded and used to worship the spirits of ancestors who have a number of descendants in relation to genetics. An example is the Pura Parlors, Dadya and Paibon.
- Pura Kahyangan 3: always there, in every village in Bali. This temple is used for the Ida Hyang Widhi Wasa. An example of this is the Pura Desa, Pura Dalem and Pura Puseh.
- Pura Kahyangan Jagat or General: This is the status of the temple for general or consists of different groups. For example Pura Purusada, Besakih Temple, Pura Goa Lawah, Pura Wayah Dalem Majapahit, Uluwatu temple, and much more.
- Pura Swagina: a temple founded by a group of certain groups bound together in the same profession and have equal livelihoods. For example Pura Subak for the farmers and Pura Melanting for the merchants.
There are so many classification of temples in Bali ….We have several well known temples and a part tourist attraction. An example is Pura Besakih, Pura Uluwatu, and Pura Tanah Lot.
Beaches in Bali
Bali is surrounded by beaches and coral reefs. Most of the beaches are brown or sand gray, a few with white sand.
Not far from our Villa there are Kuta and Padma (Legian) Beach, Double Six, Petinget and more.
With a day trip you can explore a lot of other beautiful beaches like Bingin, Blue Point, Pandawa, Sanur, Whire Sand and Amed Beach, to name only a few of them.
Enjoy beautiful sunsets you will never forget or top it with a romantic seafood sunset dinner directly on the beach.
